Destined Tutorial

Introduction Video

Go Deeper!

In this section we will dive deeper into the lesson’s topic. This is where you will learn more about what was discussed in the introduction video. We may also include short videos to watch, articles to read, or bible verses to explore. Occasionally, we will highlight a featured activity your family will need to do as part of the lesson. Featured activities will be in bold, blue letters like this!

Featured Saint

One of the things we are most excited for this year is the chance to introduce you to the many holy men and women who are Catholic saints. Every lesson will have a featured saint who ties into something that was discussed as part of the topic.

Let Us Pray!

Every lesson will have a prayer challenge. We encourage you to pray as a family as part of this program. Maybe family prayer is something you are already doing or maybe it’s new. Maybe you pray a little as a family, but want to pray together more often or more meaningfully. Wherever you are, we hope this part of each lesson is a blessing for you.

Live it Out Activities

Every lesson will have several activities for you. Many of these activities will have you using your Destined Family Journals. Others may ask you to do something as a family, or post something in the comments for discussion.

You don’t have to do every activity, but you are certainly welcome to! However, we will highlight activities that are necessary to do. For example, the tutorial lesson activity below is a necessary activity!

Tutorial lesson activity: Leave a comment on this lesson introducing yourselves and saying something you are hoping to learn about this year. My example would be, “Hi this is the Kenny family checking in! We would like to learn more about saints who lived in America!”

This is very important for two reasons. The first is that it lets us know who you are and what you would like to learn about! The second is that it is an additional way of safeguarding the site against spam comments from people who aren’t a part of our program. This blog is set up so that before people can comment automatically, they need to have their first comment approved by a member of the formation staff. This assignment will get your first comment out of the way so that you don’t need to worry going forward!

More to Explore!

You have reached the end of the Destined Tutorial and are ready to start your adventure! We hope you are excited for what is to come. Please leave your comment below to complete the lesson activity, and then head to Lesson 1: Building a Home Prayer Space!

Hello, friends!

This is the Borg Family – Patrick, Kelly, Elliott (9) and Brooks (6). We also have a kitty named Jasper who may be snuggling nearby.

We LOVE learning about the Saints – Some of our favorites are St. Lucy, St. Francis of Assisi, Saint Isadore, and of course Saint Mary Magdalene 🙂

I personally enjoyed seeing the other families check in – I recognize some families from teaching Children’s Liturgy!

We’ll be praying for each of your families as we explore what God has destined for our lives <3
